Dru Ha on the Changes in the Music Industry and Adapting to It (Video)

Dru Ha, CEO of Duck Down, spoke to DJ Revolution about his time in the music industry from interning at Nervous Records, where he met Buckshot, to Duck Down's partnership with Priority Records in the late 90's and to being the music director today at Cornerstone Agency. Dru shares how the industry has changed with resources being at the fingertips of all artists being a good and bad thing, and surviving in the industry with lower sales due to illegal downloads and more.

The interview was filmed in 2011. Dru Ha states that sales are broken down to about 70% Physical / 30% Digital and it's growing towards more digital. He couldn't have been more right, it was reported in 2012 that digital music accounted for 55.9% of total sales (singles & albums). It marks the first time that digital music stores outpaced physical stores for album sales. More info here.
